2021 Merlot [clone 181]

After four years of drought, we knew the grapes hanging in the vineyard would make a spectacular wine, and we nailed it. Simply fabulous and expansive aromatics lead you into a mouthful of ripe, concentrated fruit balanced by pitch-perfect acidity. This vintage brings the notion of Merlot to a whole new shooting match indeed, turning this varietal into something special – double guns blazing – indeed. Seriously sultry and sophisticated, oh-so-perfectly ripe summer berries get a little naughty in the backseat with notes of oolong tea and hibiscus. Deep, plunging flavors surf along ample minerality into a very long finish that still manages to leave you wanting more.
