2021 GOLD Cabernet Sauvignon

Double-barreled Bordeaux…. Insanely gorgeous with loads of everyone’s favorite black and blue Caldwell fruits and an unexpected hit of cool menthol. The aromatics that follow are incredibly intriguing, combining equatorial salt air and a jet stream of berries and graphite that brands this Cabernet Sauvignon an intellectual wine of the highest order. The mouthfeel is intense and mouthwatering, with voluptuous tannins and a salinity we discover in only the best wines of the world, and specifically the realm of the greatest Cabernets.

If Cabernet is King in Napa Valley, Gold is Caldwell’s baby Jesus. At the start of every growing season, Marc sets out on a quest to determine the best lots and blocks of Cabernet from the entire vineyard. We keep these singularly spectacular expressions all to ourselves… like a dirty little secret. Destined for Gold, these lots get babied all the way through the winemaking process and élevage decisions, as Ramiro crafts the perfect barrel to underscore the final wine’s particular brand of epic.
