2018 SOS Maverick

Crafted as an homage to our one-and-only Head Smuggler and wine maverick extraordinaire. It’s also now the namesake for the Napa Valley Film Festival’s Caldwell Maverick Award (so far given to Will Ferrell, Billy Bob Thornton and Matthew McConaughey). Made to drink now, and best enjoyed in copious quantities, it pairs as well with sophisticated wine dinners as it does with covert backroom deals. With ample ripe, red fruits, it’s got a thread of pomegranate flavor and stick-to-your-ribs, mocha-tinged tannins. The meaty core speaks to its base camp of unmistakable, dyn-o-mite Coombsville Syrah and Cab. Drink it now, or age it for a few years.
