For those of you with a renegade spirit, a predilection for the finer things in life, and a soft spot for a tall tale, you may just be Society of Smugglers material. With a portfolio of wines made just for our members (most from the original smuggled clone blocks – the oldest and most prized blocks in the vineyard), along with invitations to back door deals, epic parties, comp tastings in the cave, the chance to make your own wine through the Smuggler Barrel Program, access to the Smuggler’s Hideaway, and first dibs on anything else we’ve got going on, this is the wine club that gives all others serious Pinot envy.
As it turns out, Winemaker ranks first place on the list of dream jobs for dudes in America. Our Barrel Program offers you the chance to live the dream without the cool $20-mil you’d need to spend for your own winery in Napa these days.
When you sign up to make your own barrel of wine, you’ll join our killer winemaking team for an intensive session at the winery to learn the art and science of blending, create your own label and package, and you’ll end up with 24 cases (approximately 288 bottles) of your very own wine.
If you’ve got a group of friends and a sweet location to host them, we’ll help you throw a party on your home turf, Caldwell-style. You choose the venue and the guest list, and we’ll bring the tall tales, and acustom-curated selection of wines to make it a night to remember. There’s a 20-case minimum purchase for a JFC on the Road stop. You can mix-and-match from our entire Caldwell Vineyard lineup, including library and Smuggler only wines. Give us a shout if you’re interested in hosting, so we can get your spot scheduled into our national tour.
Our sweet little guest house is the perfect spot to launch
all your covert Napa operations, and Smugglers get first dibs
on reservations. It’s got vineyard views, 2 bedrooms
(we don’t mess around when it comes to thread count), a cozy
fireplace and all the peace and quiet you’ll need to escape.
Located in Coombsville we’re just a few miles from downtown
Napa and everything that our legendary valley has to offer.
Our favorite night of the year, it’s a clandestine evening of camaraderie and revelry with a fair bit of debauchery thrown in.…Think sabering French champagne into the setting sun, more wine than most folks consider civilized, a multi-course feast of mouthwatering magnitude, a raging bonfire under the ancient oaks, fine cigars, and always a few surprises (we’ve had visits from the likes of Tommyknockers and fire dancers in years past).
